Rudram Slide Show

Just for fun, I took some of my photos of Shiva lingams and used them as background to Seetharam's wonderful recitation of Rudram. Rudram is always one of most popular downloads on the puja.net site, so you should have something enjoyable to watch while you listen.

Star TV Report

When we performed the Ancestor Yagya on the banks of the Ganges, we attracted a fairly considerable crowd because it isn't often that anyone performs the ritual as elaborately as we did. So by the end we were surrounded by TV reporters with their handicams. We ended up in all the local and regional newspapers as well as on Star TV, a national TV channel that is distributed throughout southeast asia.

Shiva Shakti 5 Day Yagya

During the September trip to Varanasi we began with a 5 day yagya for Shiva and Shakti. This yagya contains images and a day by day explanation of the entire event. And by the way, it was a LOT of fun! There was something new and different every day.

Navagraha Yagya - Part 1, Preparation

This video is from January 2005 when we organized a Navagraha (9 Planet) yagya in Kumbakonam, south Tamil Nadu. The yagya took place at a patasala (school) and is a good example of a traditional planetary yagya.

This first segment shows the preparations for the yagya including the construction of an elaborate and very large Navagraha Yantra with colored cloth, grain, coconuts and flowers.

The second segment will contain the chanting of the planetary mantras, and will be posted as soon as I get a chance to finish it.

Rudra Fire Yagya (Havan)

This is a few minutes from a Rudra Yagya. Rudram from Yajur Veda is being chanted as ghee is being offered into the fire. The whole yagya takes a couple of hours, but this gives you a nice feel for what the yagya is like.

Shiva Ashtotra

In this video Seetharam offer flowers to Shiva as the 108 names of Shiva are chanted by another priest.
